His route has led him to Andorra, and Mountain Hostel Tarter has had the pleasure to accommodate him.
Geoff Dalglish, 64 years old, original from South-Africa, is hiking, from Geneva to Salamanca.
He will hike over 1.500 mi, equivalent to 2.414 km, across 4 mountain ranges, in 6 different countries over 125 days, until arrive to Salamanca. As an ambassador for WILD10, the World Wilderness Congress, he is walking The Trail to Salamanca: with a message about treading more lightly and lovingly upon the Earth.
Geoff Dalglish will be arriving to Salamanca, just as delegates gather from all other the world for WILD10, the 10th World Wilderness Congress, in Salamanca between the 4th and the 10th October 2013.
Along the Trail, Geoff will be joined by other hikers from local villages & organizations as they explore the re-emergence of ecological corridors and the return of wildlife across Europe.
Geoff and his team of hikers will follow what biologists call el camino del lobo, an ancient migration route of wolves, across the south of France, and along the Pyrenees and Cantabrian Mountain corridors. As they hike they will post their stories on the GeoStory platform…follow them, and join the Trail to Salamanca! http://wild10.org/en/trail-to-salamanca
In this way, Geoff Dalglish, was arrived last July 19th to Andorra, from the French Pyrenees, to visit and recognize at firsthand the Comapedrosa Natural Park and Madriu Valley, Unesco World Heritage, to continue his hike to Catalonia.
In Mountain Hostel Tarter had the privilege of hosting Geoff during his days in Andorra, great hiker, great ecologist, but a better person.
Geoff says: “the Mountain Hostel Tarter in Andorra which is my new benchmark for quality and class in hostels. It feels more like a small and elegant boutique hotel than the usual hostels. My other favorite is Iona Hostel on the sacred island off the coast of Scotland”
